In an interview with Demilked, Kateryna revealed that working with glass had been a long-held dream of hers. She shared that the material itself suggested the shape of her pieces and changed her initial concepts. “We had a lot of experiments with the form; glass is difficult to tame, so each object is unique and has its own original properties,” she explained.

Looking at Sokolova’s work, it’s clear that her experimentation and dedication to the craft have paid off. The vases in the “GUTTA” series are truly works of art, with their fluid curves and mesmerizing colors capturing the essence of liquid in a way that is both striking and beautiful.

Sokolova’s designs are not only visually stunning, but they also pay homage to the rich history of glass-blowing in Ukraine. The country has a long tradition of producing fine glassware, and Sokolova’s work continues to uphold this legacy while also pushing the boundaries of what is possible with the material.

With each piece being unique and possessing its own properties, Sokolova’s vases are truly one-of-a-kind. Her work is a testament to the power of creativity and experimentation, and a reminder of the beauty that can be found in even the most challenging materials.
